This latest patent recognises ROKBOX’s innovative use of a readily available, cost effective, material (Polypropolyene) in a new and novel way. Polypropylene is highly protective, lightweight, reusable and recyclable. The ROKBOX Lite combines four types of recyclable polypropylene (PP): Expanded Foam (EPP) – Frame Injection Moulded Polypropylene (PP) – Corners and lid fixation inserts Extruded Honeycomb Polypropylene (PP) – Lid/base panels Woven Polypropylene (PP) – Rear Panel Internal Velour The innovative design dramatically cuts weight, improves handling, and reduces the knocks and stresses artworks typically face in transit, compared to other hard crating solutions. By utilising longlife, recyclable materials and circular design principles, ROKBOX Lite cases enables galleries, museums and logistics partners to lower the carbon footprint of every fine art shipment whilst also reducing waste and costs. Anthony Fraser, ROKBOX Product Development Director said: “This patent approval marks a pivotal step forward in our mission to reshape art logistics through sustainable, practical innovation. The Lite design combines materials with purpose and is greater than the sum of its parts. The patent is on the recyclability of the crates in their entirety. Thanks to Glenelg Design for their expertise.” Andrew Stramentov, ROKBOX Founder & CEO said: “If the race is to build the strongest, lightest, most protective box, we’ve done it. The design and testing process was resource-heavy, but that’s the nature of innovation, you keep failing till you get it right. The art world now has lightweight fine art packaging that hugely reduces waste, carbon emissions and costs, whilst protecting art better.” ROKBOX continues to collaborate with the arts and cultural sector to challenge convention, rethink resource use, and build a more resilient future for fine art logistics.
